Equipment

One of the cornerstones of Highlands Drilling’s success lies in its meticulous approach to maintaining a fleet of well-kept highly consistent equipment. This strategic path ensures uniformity in performance across the entire drilling operation. By having equipment with consistent specifications and capabilities, Highlands Drilling has optimized the entire drilling process.  This uniformity not only enhances drilling efficiency but also simplifies the training procedures for the workforce, contributing to a highly skilled and synchronized team.

Our Speedstar SS-200 rigs are purpose-built and highly interchangeable ancillary and support equipment that combine to provide our customers with the best performing and most versatile drilling rigs. The consistent design and interchangeability across the our fleet as well as its ancillary and support equipment also greatly adds to efficiencies when managing repairs, performing maintenance or planned overhauls and in meeting special customer needs.

A unrivaled combination of strengths and abilities make Highlands Drilling ideally suited for all aspects of vertical, directional and horizontal well projects using both conventional and under-balanced drilling processes.
Highlands Drilling's fleet is equipped with custom designed, state of the art Walking Substructure Systems.

Our Walking Substructure Systems have repeatedly been proven to save our customers time and money. This cost savings is generated through ultra efficient relations from well to well on pad site.  Walking our rigs from well to well also reduces the number of moving parts and support equipment required on location which reduces potential hazards and increases overall site safety.

With a 25’ floor height, the Walking Substructure Systems uses internally integrated rails and step systems to take five-foot longitudinal steps and approximately two-foot latitudinal steps with the rig 100% “rigged up” and 70,000# of drilling tubulars racked in the rig's derrick. The system's twin 10-ton pneumatic hoists systems are capable of carrying and handling a complete well control system in walking mode. Average rig walk time with 70,000# of drilling tubulars in the rig's derrick and full 13.625”, 5K well control system in the rig's substructure averages less than 30 minutes from well bore to well bore.
